The ‘Big 6’
With the season well under way, it is becoming increasingly interesting as to who will win the Premier League for the 20/21 season. The teams known as part of the ‘Big 6’ include the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs. The ‘Big 6’ have suffered defeat early on and are looking to gain some consistency in their form. Liverpool were thrashed 7-2 against Aston Villa, Manchester City lost to Leicester City, Manchester United fell apart against Tottenham Hotspurs, Arsenal could not break down Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspurs could not find an equalizing goal against Everton. With plenty more games to go, everything is still there to play for!
Ian Darke’s predictions
English soccer commentator, Ian Darke who is employed by ESPN says the team that is going to win the premier league will be Liverpool. Darke justifies his prediction by going on to say “I think (Jurgen) Klopp is going to be really wound up to foil Pep Guardiola again. For the third year running I am going to put Liverpool to win the title. Although, it might not be as easy when they are defending it”
Shaka Hislop’s predictions
Former Soccer player, Shaka Hislop has said Liverpool will also win the premier league this year. He went on to say “Liverpool showed last season that they were quite easily the best team in the league, 18 points was the difference between them and (Manchester) City. The only way I see Liverpool slipping up is if there is a long term injury or two to their front three, which is a possibility”.
Craig Burley’s predictions
Former Soccer player, Craig Burley believes Manchester City will be winning this season’s premier league trophy. He stated “I think they will have learnt from their mistakes of last season otherwise they are in trouble. When they have possession and dominating teams they have to learn to not be so open defensively. They are not going away and are still a talented squad with a talented manager. They were kind of embarrassed by some of their defending last season and I think will have the grit in their teeth again because they have a purpose about them”.
Other competition within the Premier League?
