The UVa Alternative Spring Break (ASB), a student organization which runs volunteer trips over spring break, has released their 2021 schedule of trips for students to undertake. ASB allows students to choose between many spring break trips which they participate in along with their fellow Hoos, traveling to places all over the United States conducting a wide range of service projects. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 and UVa canceling the formal week for spring break, ASB will not conduct the traditional trips but will instead introduce other opportunities throughout the spring semester for students to be involved.
Under normal circumstances, students can choose to focus on environmental service projects, human services trips, or housing trips. Though there is a fee to attend, the trips are all-inclusive.
Before the cancellation of spring break 2021, students had the option of attending many different trips such as traveling to Joshua Tree, CA helping the National Parks Service, or going to New Orelans, LA to help Habitat for Humanity.
Though formal trips have been cancelled this year, check out their website here for further updates and other service opportunities this coming semester.
