A popular sentiment I’ve heard from friends and family members recently has been that “holiday seasons won’t be the same” in quarantine. While this is unfortunately true – there likely won’t be parties to attend or large family gatherings to look forward to – we can still make the best of the upcoming holiday season by adapting to the unique circumstances we’re in, and coming up with new ways to celebrate. What better way to do that than with some festive halloween dessert recipes!
Halloween in Quarantine?
This week I realized that Halloween is approaching. Growing up, this was one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. I enjoyed dressing up in fun costumes, carving elaborate faces on pumpkins, trick-or-treating with friends, and most of all, I enjoyed the sweets that my mother made in preparation for the Halloween parties we attended. While I won’t be able to partake in a lot of the activities I enjoyed during the Halloween season growing up, I will most certainly be baking lots of sweets and delicious goods to celebrate.
What I’ll be Baking
Luckily for me, as there is no shortage of time, there’s also no shortage of delicious and festive Halloween inspired recipes out there waiting for me to bake. While I’m no chef, I think I can manage some of these treats that “Well Done” recommends. Personally, I’ll be kicking off the holiday season by trying out the “frankenstein cookies” and the “severed hand pie”!
