Despite Joe Biden being the projected winner of the 2020 Presidential race, results continue to come in as the state of Georgia prepares for two runoff Senate elections. These races scheduled for January 2021 will most likely determine which U.S. political party has control of the Senate.
Incumbent Republican Sen. Kelly Loeffler is running against Democrat Raphael Warnock and incumbent Republican David Perdue is facing Democrat Jon Ossof. Though Georgia has predominantly been considered a red state, with Republicans winning the Senate every time since 2000, the recent election shows a changing political demographic. The 2020 Presidential election currently has Biden winning in the state- previously won by Trump in 2016- by a small margin, with the final result too close to call as the final votes are counted.
