Jim Gaffigan jokes on fast food joints: from his love for crispy chicken from Popeyes to all the frustrations that come with fast food in modern society. Fast food humor at its best!
Fast food is something that almost everyone can relate to. Whether you like it or not, fast food has been around for years and will stick around for decades more. Jim Gaffigan mentions his love for a good, greasy fried chicken from his favorite fast food joint, Popeyes.
Changing views on fast food
He also notes that it is interesting how our attitudes change about fast food. When we are younger, it is guilt-free and most children love and regularly eat fast food without much shame or guilt. But at what point do we start to be embarrassed about eating fast food? It is like we have to justify eating fast food everytime we do it. He mentions that this is why the drive thru is so convenient – so that no one has to see you dining in at a fast food joint!
Those crucial condiments
Moreover, Jim jokes about how ketchup is an important part of his meal. He seems to always ask the worker for more ketchup while getting glanced at for handing over an extra couple of packets to satiate his desire for more ketchup on his burger and fries at a fast food joint. He also finds it interesting and quite mind-boggling that on the ketchup packet it says “not for resale”. As if there are people who take those small condiment packages and sell them in supermarkets or out in the street.
Jim continues to ramble on about his love for the tomato based condiment. Even going so far as to say that those that do not like ketchup are “bastards”, which had audience laughing heartily! Additionally, he says that he puts ketchup on sushi, and quite literally everything that he wants to taste like tomatoes.
